Relationships and expectations

I wonder how two people who are madly in love with each other end up fighting and seperating. The main culprit as per me is always expectations. Its really really very important to have right expectations.

I have seen couples who are very happy with each other inspite of them being very different, inpite of their bad physical relations, inspite of all the differences they have. And the main reason of their successful relationship is - they know exactly what and how much to expect from the other. And ofcourse it takes years to come to this level where you both expect just the right. Many relationships fail to reach that level.
We get into a relation when we see the other person meeting the imagination we have for our ideal parner but with time we start realizing there are many things that are not as we thought they would be. And that is the time most crutial for a relationship. If the partners can withstand the pressure built because of the expectations and understand that it is imposssible for the other to meet all the expectations, the relationship will flourish.  I also call it accepting the other person as he/ she is.

I just wish that we all can learn this art of accepting the other the way he/ she is and able to communicate and set the right expectations.

Romance with nature

O dear take me to the land of dreams...

Where fresh rays of morning sun
bring with them the hope for a new day
and fragrant red roses
remind us of selfless love

Where dew drop on green grass
soothes feet with its sweet kiss
and cool breeze from the river
silently whispers a love message

Where lovers sit for hours holding hands
watching surreal sunsets
and changing colors of the sky
bids adieu to a wonderful day

Where moon lit beautiful night
brings with it lovely dreams
and song of nightingale
ushers you to the world of dreams

O dear just take me there
where there are no worries
and no hurries
That's the land of dreams I dream of!

In love... all over again

Every time I wake up
And see you beside me
Fondly stroking my head…
I fall in love with you all over again

Every day with you
Is like waking up in paradise
your body curled around to fit mine
enveloped in your love…
I fall in love with you all over again.

Every time I see you upset
(So rare that is)
I curse myself and the world
to have hurt such a lovely soul.
Every time you laugh and sing…
I fall in love with you all over again

Every time you embrace me
and wrap your strong arms around me
I feel so safe
Wrapped up in you…
I fall in love with you all over again.

Your loving and caring ways
Never cease to surprise me
Your every little display of emotion
and those sweet nothings
Makes me fall in love with you...
All over again!

"Adjustment is the greatest prayer" Amjad Ali said while addressing the audience at a show by Amaan Ali at Kamani.

Be it playing an instrument with another master and adjusting to his tunes or living life and adjusting to its strange ways... Adjustment IS the greatest prayer

I, me and myself

I love:
- Sweet smell of roses and green grass
- Sound of chirping birds
- Watching Sunsets
- Long walks
- Getting wet in rains
- Listening to soft music
- Watching romantic or philosophical movies
- Participating in Chai adda with family and friends
- Traveling, writing and talking to familiar strangers I meet on my journeys
- Day dreaming

I believe in:
- Living life on my own terms.
- Always on a look out for challenges. Routine life bores me to the core.

The Strangers

After a decade of knowing each other
Strangely they are still strangers.

They have yet not been able to
deep dive into the each others hearts.
They have yet not been able to
touch each others soul

They are still strangers
And strange is their life
Together yet apart,
Near yet distant.

Living just with one hope
One day, someday
They will be able to confide in each other
No longer will they be strangers

Grown ups are very strange - I

How strange is this that we never bargain at a big stores while buying our branded clothes
but we do so with poor rickshaw puller...
